HOLI WITH NATURAL COLOURS
15th March 2022
10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Coloured powder or gulal is the essence of Holi. Traditionally, gulal was made using flowers like Palas (Flame of the Forest), Gulab (Indian Rose) and Harshringar (Night Jasmine).
Synthetic colours have become commonplace in Holi celebrations today, but leave lasting damage on our skin, soil and water systems. Going back to traditional, all-natural pigments that are fragrant and safe is a wonderful way to celebrate Holi with a sense of care for the environment and our loved ones.
We invite you to revisit this tradition with our workshop at Nila House that will teach you the art of making your own Holi colours using foraged seasonal flowers and basic kitchen greens and herbs. We will be making 4 colours during the session.
